Welcome to The Barn
The History
Originally constructed in 1974, many locals recall the JFR Barn as an iconic steakhouse restaurant and cherished institution in Southern Pines. Boasting the largest seating capacity in Moore County for decades, the Barn was the go-to spot for holiday dinners, family gatherings, date nights, and special events. Sadly, in 2012, the property was sold at auction and remained vacant until 2024 when Reno & Lynn Rollé spotted the beautiful Barn quietly beckoning to be rediscovered.
The Vision
Today, under new management, The Barn is being revitalized with a fresh vision while honoring its original splendor. By day, guests can enjoy thoughtfully crafted coffees, teas, smoothies, and delicious breakfast pizzas, and wholesome menu items with no seed oils, GMOs, gluphosates, or harmful chemical additives. As evening arrives, The Barn transforms into a lively dining destination—featuring next-level NY-style pizzas from a state-of-the-art hearth, fresh salads, and other exciting menu items with a full selection of cocktails, beer, and wine.
Every detail—from the food to the atmosphere—is designed to create a warm, welcoming experience that brings people together. The Barn isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a gathering space for the community to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the best of Southern Pines hospitality.
Outdoor Oasis
We’re transforming the back of the property into The Barnyard—a beautifully landscaped outdoor oasis designed for connection, relaxation, and community. This vibrant space will feature a beer garden, live music, and flexible event areas perfect for gatherings of all kinds. Guests can enjoy performances on the outdoor stage, family movie nights under the stars, an auxiliary beer and wine bar, and even a nostalgic gelato/ice cream bar.

Building on the owners’ prior experience operating a popular café in Ojai, California, The Barnyard will blend hospitality, innovation, and sustainability. A state-of-the-art EV charging facility will offer visitors the convenience of “charging your car while recharging yourself”—a seamless, forward-thinking experience that reflects The Barn’s commitment to both people and planet.

Upcycling & Sustainability
In repurposing The Barn, we’re committed to preserving its original charm while blending it with modern touches. We’ll reuse the original wood to maintain the barn’s authentic feel and incorporate upcycled vintage treasures sourced from local shops, adding a layer of Southern Pines’ history. Our sustainable, eco-conscious approach enhances the space with creativity while reflecting our dedication to the environment.
